Eco Friendly Packnic Packaging

Our partnering chefs always supply excellent food so it’s our responsibility to provide eco-friendly packaging with minimum impact on the environment. Our eco-friendly packaging is sourced through suppliers who share our passion for the environment. Below you’ll find each item of our packaging and what it’s made from.

Picnic blanket box (outer box)

The cardboard is made from 80% recycled materials and 20% sustainably sourced wood, registered with the FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council). The ink is also water-based, meaning that that entire box is 100% recyclable.

Thermal bag

The material used for our thermal bag is biodegradable EPE (Expanded polyethylene) foam on the inside and laminated aluminium foil on the outside. Due to the silver material on the outside having a plastic coating this does not allow the product to be recyclable. The bag can be reused but once the bag has reached its end of use please dispose of through general waste.

Food containers

Our eco-friendly range is made from FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council)-certified cardboard and PLA (polylactide) lamination. PLA is biodegradable and derived from 100% renewable resources.

Plates

Made from palm leaves. Disposal could not be simpler: either throw away with food waste or rinse and compost

Napkins

Compostable and finished in our beautiful dark blue branded colour

Cutlery

We’ve found the best cutlery with which to enjoy your picnic. The material used is CPLA (polylactide aliphatic copolymer), which is both strong and biodegradable.

Glasses

Our glasses are made from PET (polyethylene terephthalate) or, in other words, recycled plastics. The material is recyclable, eco-friendly and BPA free. BPA, Bisphenol A, is an industrial chemical that has been used to make certain plastics. The glasses can only hold cold drinks.

At Parknic we drive for sustainability to make sure that all of our packaging is as environmentally friendly as possible.  We regularly review our packaging suppliers to fall in line with our ethos; reuse or recycle.
